Look, I don’t mean to sound condescending, but there are reasons why Saucon Valley needs an easily accessible, centrally located public library.

Literacy is kind of important. We are not overflowing with great reading habits in this place, and we seem to be better at selling townhomes than the value of community education.

If you’re not familiar with the library debacle, there’s been plenty in the news and blogs.

But I feel like it’s often not seen in the larger context of community education, and that’s part of why people voted for people who would do this to the library.

They simply do not comprehend that educating the local populace makes economic sense, and, well, we have endless research to show that’s incorrect on multiple fronts.

And that’s stupid. And damaging.
