Obi-Wan off to satisfying start

In a galaxy far, far away from Hellertown: My take on the Deborah Chow-directed Obi-Wan Star Wars TV series on DisneyPlus.com ...

Overall, I felt that Obi-wan satisfyingly brings a lot of new depth to sketchy storylines and famous characters who had been pretty two-dimensional and backgrounded in the films (Owen Lars and Breha Organa become more complete characters, for example). There are several great trailers to see.

Personally, as someone who watched EVERY Clone Wars and Rebels animated episode with my kid in the 2010s, it was cool to see the Inquisitors brought to live action.

Moses Ingram is a great actress; at times I wondered whether the Reva character, as written so far, gives her the complexity and scope she's capable of projecting. We'll see how that develops.

I found the kid Leia weirdly annoying. Too much stiff-legged running around and a cloying precociousness.

Great visuals overall, but that's standard these days in big-budget sci-fi. Flea was hilarious.

I hope we get to see more of Kumail Nanjiani, the fake jedi character, who kind of stole the show in Season 1 Episode 2, as far as I'm concerned. Adds some sweet comic relief.

I will watch again.
